Is It Really a GTA FiveM HWID Ban?

A Cfx.re global ban surfaces the moment the FiveM client tries to connect to any server: "Your machine/OS installation has been _globally_ banned from FiveM by an automated system. This ban will expire in [N] days + [HH:MM:SS]." (Modern token-based bans display the variant: "A token used on the machine or OS installation that you are currently using has been globally banned…") A per-server ban from txAdmin or FiniAC shows up post-character-select as a kick with the server-side reason, and FiniAC's cross-server ban list cascades the same kick across every FiniAC-protected server.

Reality Check

GTA FiveM Appeals Almost Never Work

And when they're denied — which is almost always for HWID bans — your hardware stays permanently blacklisted. No second chances.

Global ban lists. We have no way to verify the quality of every anticheat, and it may very well be possible for a global ban list to ban players without good reason. With global ban lists, this impacts the overall gameplay experience of FiveM, as players are unable to join a large number of servers without sufficient reason.

Why You Need This

Do You Really Need an HWID Spoofer for GTA FiveM?

You spend two months grinding into NoPixel's whitelist queue, finally drop your character at Mission Row PD on a Tuesday wipe-day shift, and three days later FiveM's own automated system kicks you with "Your machine/OS installation has been _globally_ banned from FiveM by an automated system." The ban isn't from NoPixel and it isn't from Rockstar — it's from Cfx.re, the team Rockstar acquired in August 2023, and it locks you out of every FiveM server simultaneously: NoPixel, Eclipse RP, ProdigyRP, GTA World, KNG, the lot. You buy a fresh GTA V copy on a new Steam account, spin up a new Rockstar Social Club, generate a new Cfx.re license, and the moment your second character hits the loading screen at Legion Square the same ban banner comes back — because Cfx.re's automated system already wrote your motherboard, your network adapter, and your `license2` ROS-license-via-Steam token into its global ban table the first time.

A Cfx.re global ban is the most resilient ban on the GTA V mod-framework surface because FiveM tracks an unusually long fingerprint per session. Cfx.re's official identifier docs list `steam`, `discord`, `xbl`, `live`, `license` (Rockstar Online Services hash), `license2` (the ROS license bonded to your Steam install — Cfx.re notes it "can be the same value as `license`"), `fivem` (your Cfx.re User Id), and `ip` — and on top of that, the server-side `GET_PLAYER_TOKEN` native lets txAdmin and every paid community anti-cheat (FiniAC, Pegasus AC, FiveM Guard) consume hardware-derived tokens whose own docs say verbatim "Tokens can be used to enhance banning logic, however are specific to a server." Cfx.re's August 2019 moderator post that pinned a global ban to a Huawei-family MAC address proved the network-adapter MAC alone is enough to trigger automated detection — and r/FiveM users still report identical 14-day ban → 2-day window → 14-day ban loops in 2026 that survive full Windows reinstalls and brand-new Rockstar accounts.

The ban model is dual-layer. Cfx.re's own global ban (the verbatim ban-screen message above) locks you out of the entire Cfx.re network. Per-server hardware bans — issued through txAdmin, FiniAC, or a server-owner's bespoke PC-checker bot — lock you out of one server cluster (NoPixel, Eclipse RP, KNG Estate, PlatinumRP, Dreams LA), but FiniAC's cross-server ban list bridges those into a de facto global lockout across every FiniAC-protected server. Cfx.re's own Resource FAQ explicitly disallows global ban lists, but the FAQ also notes Cfx.re "rarely takes action," so the practice continues.

Reinstalling GTA V doesn't help — the GTA V install is downstream of FiveM's identifier collection. Buying a new Cfx.re license doesn't help — `license2` is bonded to the Rockstar Online Services hash on your Steam install. Buying a new Rockstar account doesn't help — the motherboard MAC, the disk serial, and Cfx.re's hardware tokens persist on the machine. FiveM disables BattlEye for the GTA V launch (BattlEye was only added to actual GTA Online on September 17, 2024 for GTA V's 11th anniversary), so the AC story here is Cfx.re's own — not Rockstar's, not Take-Two's. Cfx.re's anti-cheat is currently user-mode (no signed kernel driver shipped by Cfx.re; an April 2026 forum.cfx.re Platform Suggestion thread explicitly asked Cfx.re to add one).

Verified

In Cfx.re's official one-year retrospective forum post "Celebrating one year with Rockstar Games" (September 24, 2024), the team disclosed that they had "banned tens of thousands of cheaters while fixing critical security vulnerabilities" in the year following the August 11, 2023 Rockstar acquisition — verbatim, first-party, on the Cfx.re Announcements forum, anchored to a specific year window. FAQ

GTA FiveM HWID Ban — Frequently Asked Questions

Is a FiveM ban the same as a GTA Online ban?

No — they're entirely separate enforcement systems. GTA Online is Rockstar's own multiplayer, protected by BattlEye since September 17, 2024 (GTA V's 11th anniversary). FiveM is the Cfx.re-run mod framework that loads the local GTA V install but never connects to GTA Online — bans there come from Cfx.re's automated system or from individual FiveM server admins, not from BattlEye or Rockstar. You can be GTA Online banned and FiveM-clean, or FiveM-banned and GTA Online-clean.

I got globally banned by Cfx.re. Can I appeal?

In practice, no. Cfx.re moderator Vespura's longstanding forum reply states bluntly: "FiveM staff is unable to assist you in the event of a global ban." Cfx.re's own Resource FAQ confirms global bans are issued by automated systems and the policy frames them as final. You can submit a ticket through support.cfx.re, but community reports across r/FiveM and forum.cfx.re show automated denial within minutes. The ban runs out on its own timer (typically 14 days for first-detection, longer for repeat hits), or it doesn't.

Will making a new Rockstar account fix my FiveM hardware ban?

No. Cfx.re's identifier surface ties to the local machine's hardware fingerprint and the `license2` token bonded to your Steam install. A new Rockstar Social Club account doesn't change the motherboard MAC, the disk serial, or the Cfx.re User Id Cfx.re wrote when you first ran FiveM. r/FiveM threads document players who created brand-new Rockstar accounts AND bought fresh copies of GTA V / RDR2 and FiveM kept attaching the old session to the new account.

Will reinstalling GTA V or Windows remove my FiveM ban?

No. FiveM's identifier collection runs on the FiveM client itself and on the server-side `GET_PLAYER_TOKEN` system — both of which read your local machine's persistent identifiers, not your GTA V install directory or your Windows files. Wiping the game or the OS changes nothing about the motherboard serial, drive UUIDs, or NIC MAC that Cfx.re's automated system already wrote into its ban table.

Does a VPN help bypass a FiveM hardware ban?

No, and it can make things worse. Cfx.re's Resource FAQ flags ban evasion as a Terms-of-Service issue. A VPN only changes your `ip` identifier — it does nothing to the seven other identifiers FiveM tracks (`steam`, `discord`, `xbl`, `live`, `license`, `license2`, `fivem`) or the hardware tokens server admins consume through `GET_PLAYER_TOKEN`. r/FiveM admins consistently report: "When we ban it bans your hardware ID's as well so you can't really get around it."

What does the FiveM ban screen actually say?

Two variants. The 2019-era automated message reads verbatim: "Your machine/OS installation has been _globally_ banned from FiveM by an automated system. This ban will expire in [N] days + [HH:MM:SS]." The modern token-based variant reads: "A token used on the machine or OS installation that you are currently using has been globally banned…" Both indicate a Cfx.re automated detection that locks you out of the entire FiveM server network.

Banned from NoPixel — does that ban me from all of FiveM?

No, a single-server ban (NoPixel, KNG, Eclipse RP, PlatinumRP) only blocks that server cluster. But many big servers run FiniAC, which operates a cross-server ban list across the FiniAC-protected network — so a ban there cascades onto every FiniAC server you've never even visited. And if the server admin used `GET_PLAYER_TOKEN` to flag your hardware tokens, those tokens persist on the same machine across new Cfx.re accounts.

I got hit by FiniAC and they want money to unban me — is that legitimate?

It's against Cfx.re's own Terms of Service. The official FiveM Resource FAQ lists "Protection rackets — (former) authors of hacks extorting server owners to buy their anticheat" and "Global ban lists" as disallowed resources. FiniAC operates a cross-server global ban list, and Cfx.re's same FAQ acknowledges the platform "rarely takes action" against this. r/FiveM users consistently advise reporting through support.cfx.re/hc/en-us/requests/new and explicitly citing the global-ban-list violation. Note: unban-fee amounts circulating in the community are charged by third-party unban services, not by FiniAC's own pricing page (which only lists monthly subscriptions for server owners).

Why does my friend's brand-new GTA V copy hit the same FiniAC ban as mine?

FiniAC and similar community anti-cheats key on hardware fingerprints (IP range, motherboard MAC, disk identifiers) — not on the FiveM/Cfx.re account. Two friends in the same household behind one router, sharing one ISP-issued IP, will both inherit the ban from whichever player triggered it. r/FiveM user u/AptemCyka pinned it: "Those global bans are IP locked, so even if you create 10 accounts, if you're on the same IP address, it won't matter." Same network, same Cfx.re-side hardware tokens, same ban.

Does FiveM use BattlEye, EAC, or VAC?

No. FiveM's anti-cheat is in-house Cfx.re — neither BattlEye, EAC, nor VAC. FiveM disables GTA V's BattlEye when launching because FiveM connects to Cfx.re-hosted community servers, not Rockstar's GTA Online. Cfx.re's anti-cheat is currently user-mode (no signed Cfx.re kernel driver); a recent April 2026 forum.cfx.re Platform Suggestion thread explicitly asked Cfx.re to add kernel-level protection.
