HWID Spoofing Guides
Games That HWID Ban: 2026 Coverage List
Games that HWID ban, grouped by anti-cheat engine: 59 titles across EasyAntiCheat, BattlEye, Vanguard, RICOCHET and more, with what each ban covers
Metin 2 can link Gameforge accounts through AhnLab HackShield's machine data. TraceX Spoofer rewrites the HWID profile permanently once, then you delete it.
Free diagnostic
The Gameforge Client message "The game is currently unavailable to you. Please contact Support." is real, but Gameforge does not publish it as an HWID-ban code, so rule out an account or launcher restriction before treating the PC as banned.
Hardware Coverage
Metin 2's anti-cheat silently reads dozens of hardware identifiers from your PC while it's running — long before you reach a match. Below is a sample of the identifiers being tracked.
| Hardware Identifier | Metin 2 Tracks | TraceX Rewrites |
|---|---|---|
| CPU / Platform Identifier | Yes | Yes |
| SMBIOS Board Serial / System UUID | Yes | Yes |
| GPU Adapter Identifier | Yes | Yes |
| Disk / Volume Serials | Yes | Yes |
| Physical NIC MAC Address | Yes | Yes |
| Windows MachineGuid | Yes | Yes |
Reality Check
And when they're denied — which is almost always for HWID bans — your hardware stays permanently blacklisted. No second chances.
“Unfortunately, using an external tool is not an accident, and if there is hard evidence that this was done willfully, then we have no choice but to uphold the ban.”
Gameforge — Metin2 UK forum Disclaimer & FAQ, posted by CryoBunny (Metin 2 Product Manager) on April 24, 2020
Why You Need This
You open the Gameforge Client for a Yohara run and get "The game is currently unavailable to you. Please contact Support." before channel or character select. Repairing Metin2 changes nothing, and now you are wondering whether another account will meet the same wall. Do not burn a shop account as a test. Gameforge forum reports show that this exact launcher wording can also be a temporary account or client restriction, while its Cheat Blocker notices cover actual bot enforcement. First establish which Gameforge account is affected and whether Support has confirmed a device-level action.
Start with the message, not forum folklore. "The game is currently unavailable to you. Please contact Support." is a real Gameforge Client error, but reports on Gameforge's own forum show that it can also clear after a support review or a wait; it is not published proof of a Metin 2 HWID ban. The documented anti-cheat history is also different from the old summaries copied across spoofer pages. An official Metin2 UK thread from July 27, 2015 says GameGuard was replacing HackShield, while Gameforge's April 24, 2020 ban-wave FAQ refers to Cheat Blocker and `cb.exe`. Gameforge has not published a current identifier list, matching formula, or universal hardware-ban error code.
That missing field list matters. On Windows, a hardware-fingerprint system can query the SMBIOS Type 2 baseboard serial and Type 1 system UUID, often called the motherboard UUID; physical disk descriptors through `IOCTL_STORAGE_QUERY_PROPERTY`; separate disk-volume serials; physical NIC MAC addresses; and `MachineGuid` under `HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography`. A TPM 2.0 endorsement key and Secure Boot state are additional hardware-identity and platform-integrity surfaces. These are real collection surfaces, not a claim that Metin2 weighs every one. Neither Gameforge nor Webzen tells players which values the current client stack retains. A game reinstall changes files. A Windows format may rotate `MachineGuid` and volume metadata, but it normally leaves firmware, drive, NIC, and TPM-rooted signals in place; an IP change touches none of them.
GameGuard also appears in titles run by other publishers, so the same stable Windows surfaces may be visible when another protected game starts. That creates cross-game fingerprint exposure, not an automatic shared ban list: each publisher controls its own sanctions, and Gameforge has not said a Metin 2 action transfers elsewhere. A temporary session spoofer presents alternate values only while its driver or service is active, then the old profile can return after reboot. TraceX Spoofer permanently rewrites its supported SMBIOS, storage, network, and Windows identifiers. Complete the one-time setup, run TraceX once, then delete the tool. The rewrite does not restore the original Gameforge account or erase server-side account links, so appeal first when the launcher message has not been confirmed as a device restriction.
Verified
On July 27, 2015, Metin2 UK team manager skilgannon opened the official "Gameguard issues collection thread" with: "we have gameguard replacing hackshield." Gameforge's later April 24, 2020 ban-wave FAQ refers to Cheat Blocker and `cb.exe`, not HackShield. Those first-party records verify the anti-cheat transition; they do not disclose the current identifier field list. (Sources: Metin2 UK forum, July 27, 2015 and April 24, 2020.)
Why TraceX
You shouldn't need to replace your PC to play Metin 2 again. That's why TraceX exists.
Run TraceX once before opening Metin 2 through Gameforge Client (proprietary; Metin 2 was delisted from Steam on August 18, 2022). The rewrite persists, so you can delete the tool before HackShield starts.
Metin 2's suspected device / account restriction is tied to the profile HackShield reads. Rewritten identifiers persist across reboots without a TraceX daemon.
For Metin 2, the documented HackShield coverage includes CPU / Platform Identifier, SMBIOS Board Serial / System UUID, GPU Adapter Identifier. TraceX rewrites the supported fields in one pass.
Metin 2 launches from Gameforge Client (proprietary; Metin 2 was delisted from Steam on August 18, 2022) after the rewrite is complete. No TraceX process remains during HackShield gameplay to consume resources.
Metin 2's suspected device / account restriction details stay separate from the current HackShield status, so a game update is never treated as unchanged by default.
When you open Metin 2 with Gameforge account (Metin 2 EN/EU/INT regional service), HackShield reads the supported identifiers produced by the completed permanent rewrite.
Setup Guide
Getting around a Metin 2 HWID ban used to take hours — reinstalling Windows, flashing BIOS, wiping drivers, re-downloading everything, and praying it worked. One wrong step meant starting over and burning another account. With TraceX, a single click does more than all of that combined.
Free download
Submit your email and receive your free TraceX HWID Spoofer license in a few minutes. Run it once on your PC to permanently rewrite the identifiers HackShield fingerprints, then delete the binary and reinstall Metin 2.
Detection Analysis
HackShield can combine identifiers from your PC into a hardware profile for Metin 2. TraceX rewrites the supported fields shown below before the game runs.
When you launch Metin 2, your real hardware IDs are scanned and matched against ban records. Every new account on a flagged PC is blocked.
Metin 2 sees a completely new machine with no ban history. New account, clean hardware — access granted.

FAQ
Gameforge's own Metin2 UK team said on July 27, 2015 that GameGuard was replacing HackShield. Its April 24, 2020 ban-wave FAQ then discussed a separate Cheat Blocker process named `cb.exe`. That makes "HackShield has remained the live anti-cheat since 2010" an outdated claim. Gameforge does not publish a 2026 architecture page naming every active client component, so the defensible answer is the documented transition, not a guessed current stack.
Not by itself. The wording is a real Gameforge Client restriction, but Gameforge has not published it as a dedicated Metin 2 hardware-ban code. Reports on its forum include cases that cleared after waiting or Support review, which means an account or launcher false positive can look similar. Save the exact message, time, affected Gameforge account, and Support response. Do not cycle valuable shop accounts through the PC to manufacture a diagnosis.
Relevant Windows surfaces include the SMBIOS Type 2 baseboard serial, SMBIOS Type 1 system UUID, physical disk serials returned through storage IOCTLs, separate volume serials, physical NIC MAC addresses, and `MachineGuid` under `HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography`. TPM 2.0 has an endorsement key, while Secure Boot exposes platform state. These surfaces are real; Gameforge does not publish which ones Metin2 stores or how it weights them.
A new login answers only the account side, and testing it can put another account at risk. Gameforge's 2020 FAQ confirms that Cheat Blocker bans can involve accounts it links to a botting account, but it does not publish that linkage formula or say every new account on one PC is automatically banned. If Support confirms only the original account is sanctioned, a hardware rewrite cannot restore it. If the launcher restriction is unresolved, appeal before testing more accounts.
Reinstalling Metin2 replaces client files and can repair a broken patch, so it is useful for a client fault. It does not change the SMBIOS board serial, system UUID, drive-firmware serials, or physical NIC identity. Formatting Windows may regenerate `MachineGuid` and volume metadata, but durable firmware and TPM-rooted surfaces normally remain. Because Gameforge does not disclose its matching recipe, neither action is proof that a confirmed device restriction has been cleared.
No. A VPN changes the public IP address used to reach Gameforge, not the SMBIOS baseboard serial, system UUID, physical disk serial, volume serial, NIC hardware, `MachineGuid`, TPM endorsement key, or Secure Boot state. Gameforge's April 2020 FAQ also says players were not banned merely for using a VPN during those Cheat Blocker waves. A VPN can change routing; it cannot turn the same Windows PC into a different hardware profile.
Gameforge's April 2020 FAQ says level-one and shop accounts were sometimes banned because they were linked to another account that was botting. It also says cases were reviewed individually and accounts on separate Gameforge accounts were not automatically banned merely because a player later cheated elsewhere. Gameforge withheld the linkage signals to protect detection. Claims that one guild invite or marketplace trade always propagates a ban go beyond the published record.
A temporary spoofer presents alternate values only while its driver or service is active, so the original profile can return after reboot and the tool must run again. TraceX Spoofer uses a permanent rewrite for its supported identifiers. Complete the one-time setup, run TraceX once, then delete the tool; no session daemon needs to remain while Metin2 runs. This does not unban the original Gameforge account or guarantee what a future client build will collect.
Yes. Gameforge directs in-game ban disputes to its Metin2 Support system. Include the exact Client wording, when it started, which game account is affected, and whether other games in the same Gameforge account still open. Do not claim compromise, shared access, or a false positive unless it is true. Gameforge's Product Manager said deliberate external-tool cases with hard evidence are upheld, and the company does not disclose detailed telemetry that would weaken detection.
There is no published automatic cross-publisher ban list. GameGuard can encounter the same stable Windows identity surfaces in multiple protected titles, so cross-game fingerprint exposure is technically possible. Enforcement remains the publisher's decision, and Gameforge has not said a Metin2 action transfers to another company's account. Treat the shared engine as an identity-exposure issue, not proof that Summoners War or another GameGuard title has already banned the PC.
